Description
Starting with the timeless stories and myths that shaped the people who came before us, in this course the children begin their study of the chronological history of our nation. From 55 BC and the Roman invasions to the exploits of Richard the Lionheart, the child is taken on an amazing journey to discover the good, the bad, and the ugly from the past, meeting a variety of fascinating historical characters in the process.
Modelled upon Miss Mason’s own programme of History for this age group, the course is comprised of seventy-two lessons to be taken over 36 weeks of the academic school year and is designed to be used alongside the reading of Our Island Story, by H. E. Marshall and Stories of the Vikings, by Mary Macgregor.
The guide lays out each lesson step-by step and includes helpful guidance on how to teach the course.
