Description

Vere Foster’s Copy-Books were first published in the mid 19th Century. Mr Foster, a lifelong philanthropist, wanted to do something to help improve literacy levels in his native Ireland and therefore developed a practical style of cursive handwriting, which avoided the eccentricities of other styles of the time.

Teaching a simplified version of English Roundhand, this popular style of handwriting was used in schools worldwide up until the 1970s, making it highly likely that your parents or grandparents received instruction in this handwriting style.

Continuing on from where the last volume left off, this edition of Vere Foster’s Copy-Books focuses on common names and words, until transitioning into the use of capital letters for the first time.

The physical copy-books are bound in a similar format to the original volumes. They are A5 in size and printed on hard-wearing 170 gsm paper, which prevents any bleedthrough. The digital print-at-home versions are resized to A4.
