Description
“Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path.”— Psalm 119:105
Using the World English Bible British Edition, the only modern translation solely in the public domain, which is based on the American Standard Version of the Holy Bible, first published in 1901, the Biblia Hebraica Stutgartensa Old Testament, and the Greek Majority Text New Testament, The Book of Genesis has been arranged into a single-flowing narrative without the distraction of traditional chapters and verses.
Unsuitable stories and language, as well as long lists of names for genealogical purposes, have been omitted from the text; however any time a word or phrase has been changed, this has been noted with the use of square brackets. Bible verses are provided at the start of each chapter, indicating the narrative which is covered and highlighting any gaps in the text.
Intended for use by home educators providing a Charlotte Mason education for their students, The Book of Genesis has been arranged for completion within a full 36-week academic school year. Chapters have been organised to allow for short lessons of no more than ten to twenty minutes, including time set aside for narration.
